Analysis: Thornton was one of five receivers to play at least 33 percent of the team's offensive snaps in 2025, joining Rice, Worthy, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Hollywood Brown. Analysis: "That's my goal," Mahomes noted Wednesday during an interview with Yahoo Sports. "I've said that since the beginning is being ready to go Week 1. I can't predict the future and I know that it's a long process. It's not just my decision, but at the same time I'm going to give the doctors and the coaches every single opportunity I can to let me be out there Week 1." With that in mind, Nate Taylor of ESPN.com relayed last month that coach Andy Reid said Mahomes (knee) should "be able to do some things in camp," with added context on that front set to arrive after the Chiefs' veterans report on July 28th. Mahomes -- who is bouncing back from a torn ACL and LCL suffered in Week 15 of last season -- participated in offseason workouts but was held out of full-team drills. |

Rice (knee) has been released from Dallas County Jail on Tuesday after serving his 30-day sentence for violating probation with a positive THC test, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Kansas City head coach Andy Reid said last Thursday that he expects Rice to be ready for the start of training camp in July. The fourth-year wide receiver is recovering from a minor clean-up surgery undergone in May on his right knee, and while in jail he was able to both rehab and maintain communication with the team. He was unable to attend mandatory minicamp, however. It's possible that Rice could still face league discipline as a result of his probation violation, but he appears on track to be fully healthy in advance of the regular season. |

Coach Andy Reid noted Thursday that Worthy (shoulder) looked good at this week's minicamp, Jesse Newell of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: While Worthy (who is in the final stages of his recovery from a shoulder procedure he underwent in January to repair his labrum) sported a no-contact jersey during the minicamp which concluded Thursday, his efforts nonetheless caught the eye of Reid. "Xavier really had a nice camp," Reid said of the 2024 first-rounder. "Stronger -- that's the part that you like. You really see it. We put him in a lot of the primary positions, and I thought he did a nice job with all of it." Next up for Worthy and the Chiefs will be training camp next month, at which point he may be able to shed his non-contact jersey. He's coming off a 2025 regular season in which he recorded a modest 42-532-1 line on 73 targets through 14 contests, but Worthy acknowledges that the shoulder injury he sustained on the first drive of the campaign hampered his effectiveness. Assuming no setbacks ahead of Week 1, Worthy could be poised for a bounce-back season in 2026 while working as a key option in Kansas City WR corps that is also in line to feature fellow returnee Rashee Rice (knee), with the likes of Tyquan Thornton, Jalen Royals and Cyrus Allen in the mix as well. |

Chiefs coach Andy Reid told reporters Thursday that he thinks Rice (knee) will be ready for the start of training camp, Nate Taylor of ESPN.com reports. "I think [Rice] will be," Reid said. "He gets out [of jail] next week. We'll see where it goes. He'll be back up here and working."
Analysis: Rice is recovering from arthroscopic surgery in a Dallas County jail, with a scheduled release date of June 16 (Tuesday). He had the minor procedure in May to remove loose debris from his right knee, shortly before he was sentenced to 30 days in jail for violating probation with a positive THC test. The Chiefs seemingly expect Rice to be back at full strength before Week 1, but there is still risk for an NFL suspension in response to his recent probation violation. Analysis: Mahomes' new deal keeps him under contract with the Chiefs through the 2033 season and carries a total value of $504.75 million, providing the 30-year-old quarterback an average salary of $64 million per season, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Analysis: Sneed was dealt from the Chiefs to the Titans in March of 2024, but after two seasons in Tennessee, he's decided to return to Kansas City. The 29-year-old struggled with injuries during his time with the Titans, appearing in just 12 of a possible 34 regular-season games. Most recently, Sneed missed Tennessee's final 10 contests in 2025 due to a quadriceps injury. However, his intention to sign with the Chiefs suggests he's moved past that issue. With Jaylen Watson and Trent McDuffie both joining the Rams this offseason, Sneed will likely step in and operate as one of Kansas City's top boundary corners during the 2026 season. |

The 23-year-old suffered a serious shoulder injury on the third offensive snap of the season in the Chiefs' Week 1 loss to the Chargers last September and missed the following two contests. He dealt with the torn labrum for the entire 2025 campaign and finished his second NFL season with a meager 42-532-1 receiving line on 73 targets across 14 regular-season appearances. Still, his participation in Tuesday's session, in any capacity, is encouraging nonetheless. Analysis: Per the report, the procedure was done to remove loose debris in Rice's knee -- which did not have any structural damage -- that was causing him inflammation. Rice is expected to be ready for training camp later this summer. Earlier Tuesday, ESPN reported that Rice was sentenced to serve 30 days in jail after testing positive for marijuana in violation of the terms of his probation for his role in a crash that left multiple people injured on a Dallas highway two years ago. Rice is set to be released June 16 and is thus not in line to be present for the Chiefs' upcoming voluntary practices, as well the team's mandatory minicamp, which is set to conclude June 11. |

Analysis: Rice is scheduled to be released June 16, ruling him out for the rest of Kansas City's offseason program. An NFL suspension may be coming this summer, with Rice unlikely to get much sympathy after violating the terms of his probation from the same arrest that led to his six-game suspension to open the 2025 campaign. The league also looked into domestic-violence allegations against Rice at the beginning of the offseason, ultimately citing "insufficient evidence" in early April. |
