Analysis: Per the report, the veteran QB's deal is for $2.25 million. The 35-year-old is thus slated to remain Justin Herbert's top backup in 2022. In that capacity, Daniel did not attempt a pass last season.

Daniel was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday, Jeff Miller of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Analysis: The quarterback tested positive for the virus last week and missed the Chargers' Week 16 loss to the Texans. Daniel will return to his role as the primary reserve behind starter Justin Herbert in Week 17 against the Broncos.
