Henne agreed Wednesday to re-sign with the Chiefs on a one-year, $2 million contract, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Henne has proven capable of commanding Kansas City's offense in emergency circumstances across his five-year stint with the team, so doesn't come as any sort of surprise to see him be retained. Of course, Henne only really carries fantasy intrigue as a roster handcuff to Mahomes, and even then likely only in multi-QB formats.
Chad Henne Sees action in relief
Henne completed 11 of 16 pass attempts for 82 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 27-3 loss to the Titans.
Analysis: Henne entered the game late in the fourth quarter in relief of Patrick Mahomes, who suffered a head injury. Mahomes was cleared of a concussion and told the media after the game that he was feeling fine, according to Adam Teicher of ESPN.com. That likely means Henne will find himself back on the bench for a Week 8 matchup against the Giants, though it will be worth monitoring Mahomes' practice participation throughout the week.
