D'Wayne Eskridge Dismal rookie season
Eskridge posted 10 receptions (20 targets) for 64 yards and a touchdown and four rushes for 59 yards over 10 games during his 2021 season.
Analysis: Eskridge missed seven games with a concussion and played more than 50 percent of the offensive snaps just once, averaging 18.9 snaps per game. The rookie second-round pick basically split the Seahawks' No. 3 wideout snaps with Freddie Swain, and neither player managed to distinguish himself. Head coach Pete Carroll said Monday that he expects Eskridge to be "a really impactful player" next year. Carroll will need to be creative to get Eskridge involved considering Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf handle the bulk of the passing-game work, but Eskridge has shown flashes in the run game. He'll likely be viewed as a late-round sleeper next season.
D'Wayne Eskridge Flashes on end-around
Eskridge caught one of three targets for seven yards and rushed once for 30 yards in Sunday's 51-29 win over the Lions.
Analysis: Eskridge was relatively quiet all game until about two minutes left in the fourth quarter when the rookie took an end-around 30 yards and fell a half-yard short of the endzone. Still, it's disappointing that Eskridge couldn't get seriously involved until garbage time. He'll look to finish his first NFL season strong in Week 18 against the Cardinals.
