Jones rushed once for minus-two yards during Sunday's 18-10 win over the Panthers.
Analysis: The absence of Mark Ingram (knee) seemingly pushed Jones into the No. 2 role at running back, but he only saw nine offensive snaps compared to 45 for Kamara and 20 for fullback Adam Prentice. Meanwhile, Kamara and quarterback Taysom Hill ended up handling 89 percent of the rushing attempts. Even if Ingram remains sidelined in Week 18 against Atlanta, it doesn't seem as if Jones will have a workload that could lead to useful fantasy numbers.
Tony Jones Bound for No. 2 role Week 17
Jones is expected to serve as the No. 2 running back behind Alvin Kamara in Sunday's game against the Panthers with Mark Ingram (knee) listed as questionable but not expected to play, Bob Rose of SI.com reports.
Analysis: When Ingram was last sidelined Week 14 against the Jets after landing on the reserve/COVID-19 list, Jones played 19 snaps on offense (28 percent) and carried six times for 10 yards while catching his lone target for a 19-yard gain. New Orleans won that game comfortably (30-9), but if Sunday's contest proves more competitive, Jones may be at risk of seeing a lighter workload if the playoff-hopeful Saints opt to lean more heavily on Kamara.
