Kristian Wilkerson Set to compete for roster spot
Wilkerson finished the 2021 regular season with four catches (on eight targets) for 42 yards and two TDs in three games.
Analysis: All of those catches occurred in Week 17, when Wilkerson -- who spent most of the season on the Patriots' practice squad -- filled in for Nelson Agholor, when he was sidelined by a concussion. The team recently re-signed Wilkerson to a future contract for 2022, which sets the stage for the 25-year-old to compete for a roster spot this coming summer.
Kristian Wilkerson Staying in New England
The Patriots signed Wilkerson to a reserve/future contract Monday.
Analysis: Wilkerson spent most of the 2021 season on the Patriots' practice squad but was elevated to the active roster three times. Across those appearances, he caught four of eight targets for two touchdowns. The 25-year-old will remain with New England heading into the offseason and could attempt to secure a 53-man roster spot ahead of the 2022 campaign.
