David Blough Staying with Lions

Blough agreed to re-sign with the Lions on Thursday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.

Analysis: Blough served mainly as Detroit's No. 3 quarterback in 2021 and played just four offensive snaps during his third season with the Lions. He should continue to serve behind starter Jared Goff and primary backup Tim Boyle heading into the 2022 campaign

David Blough Remains No. 3 QB

Blough (coach's decision) is inactive for Thursday's game against the Bears.

Analysis: While dressing as the No. 2 quarterback behind starter Tim Boyle in last week's 13-10 loss to the Browns, Blough didn't see the field, even though Boyle finished with just 15 completions for 77 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions on 23 attempts (3.3 YPA). Despite leading a listless offense in his first NFL start, Boyle looks like he'll hang on to the No. 2 job for now with top quarterback Jared Goff (oblique) rejoining the lineup Thanksgiving Day after a one-game absence.
