Coleman will re-sign with the Jets, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Coleman, who turns 29 next month, finished last season with 84 carries for 356 yards to go along with 11 catches (on 16 targets) for 49 yards in 11 games. Whereas last year, when Coleman approached Week 1 with starting aspirations, he appears destined for a complementary role behind ascending 2021 fourth-rounder Michael Carter in his second campaign with the Jets.
Tevin Coleman Off COVID list
The Jets activated Coleman (illness) from the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday.
Analysis: Coleman, who was sidelined for the Jets' Week 17 loss to the Buccaneers, is slated to be available for Sunday's season finale against the Bills. His workload for the Week 18 contest will likely be tied in large part to the status of fellow running back Michael Carter, who suffered a concussion over the weekend but is reportedly "progressing well," per head coach Robert Saleh.
