Robert was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a mild left MCL sprain, Vinnie Duber of AllCHGO.com reports.
Analysis: Robert suffered the injury during Sunday's win over the Red Sox and an MRI on Monday revealed the sprain. While the injury is considered relatively minor, a 2-to-4 week timetable is more than enough to end Robert's season with so little time left. It was a marvelous 2023 campaign for Robert, who slashed .264/.315/.542 with 38 home runs and 20 stolen bases across 145 games.
Luis Robert Jr. Could be headed to IL
Robert (knee) could be placed on the 10-day injured list, which would end his season, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Analysis: Van Schouwen hears that Tyler Naquin is expected to join the White Sox, which would seem to point to a stint on the IL for Robert, who exited Sunday's game in Boston with a left knee injury. The injury isn't believed to be serious, but with so little time remaining in the season, there would be little incentive to push Robert to return. If his campaign is indeed over, Robert would finish 2023 having slashed .264/.315/.542 with 38 home runs and 20 stolen bases.
