Mickey Moniak Day off Sunday

Moniak is not in Sunday's lineup against the Athletics.

Analysis: Moniak dealt with some injuries this season, but it was still a big career resurgence for the 2016 No. 1 overall pick, as he slashed .280/.307/.495 with 14 home runs and six steals in 85 games.

Mickey Moniak Activated from IL

The Angels reinstated Moniak (back) from the 10-day injured list Thursday.

Analysis: Moniak went on the injured list Sept. 15 due to tightness on the left side of his back, though he hasn't seen game action since Sept. 5. Now that he's healthy, he figures to slide back into an everyday role in Los Angeles' outfield for the final series of the season. Jared Walsh was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake in a corresponding move.
