Jack Flaherty Joins Tigers on one-year deal
Flaherty signed a one-year, $14 million deal with the Tigers on Thursday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Flaherty will look to rebuild his value in the market after a couple down seasons, during which he struggled with injury and his control. In his last two seasons, he's posted a 4.84 ERA and 1.59 WHIP in 180.1 innings. However, if he can return to his early-career form, Flaherty will join a promising Tigers rotation that also includes Tarik Skubal and fellow offseason addition Kenta Maeda.
Jack Flaherty Earns spot on ALDS roster
Flaherty secured a spot on the Orioles' roster for their ALDS matchup against Texas, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Flaherty hasn't been used often since being moved to the bullpen, but he's been effective in the games he has pitched, allowing one run in three innings while striking out four batters. With John Means (elbow) left off the Orioles' playoff roster, Flaherty may have an opportunity to return to a starting role in the postseason.
