John Curtiss Invited to Rockies camp

Curtiss signed a minor-league contract with the Rockies on Thursday that includes an invitation to spring training.

Analysis: Curtiss underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right elbow in August but should be ready for the start of the 2024 season. The 30-year-old reliever has collected a career 3.81 ERA and 103:32 K:BB over 106.1 innings covering parts of six major-league seasons.

John Curtiss Becomes free agent

Curtiss (elbow) elected to become a free agent Monday, Abbey Mastracco of the New York Daily News reports.

Analysis: He'll head to free agency rather than accept an outright assignment by the Mets. Curtiss had arthroscopic elbow surgery in August and it's not clear when he might be ready to pitch in games again.
