Ketel Marte Returns to starting lineup

Marte started at second base and went 2-for-4 with walk, a solo home run and two additional runs scored in Tuesday's 15-4 win over the White Sox.

Analysis: Marte did not play in Sunday's game due to an illness and was held out of the starting lineup Monday, although he entered that game as a pinch hitter. He's hit in five straight games when starting, going 10-for-20 with three home runs, a double, six RBI and seven runs scored. He's up to 94 runs scored, three shy of the career-high 97 he had in 2019. The Diamondbacks have five games remaining while competing for a wild-card spot, so Marte should be a lineup staple going forward.

Ketel Marte Enters as pinch hitter

Marte (Illness) walked as a pinch hitter in Monday's 6-4 loss to the Yankees.

Analysis: Marte walked for Jordan Lawlar in the eighth inning, loading the bases before Corbin Carroll drove in two with a single to give Arizona a brief lead. Marte stayed in the game to play second base. He'd been dealing with a stomach bug that made him unavailable Sunday and held him out of Monday's starting nine, but his usage suggests a return to the starting lineup Tuesday, when Arizona is in Chicago to start a three-game set with the White Sox.
