Brenan Hanifee Back with Tigers on MiLB deal
Hanifee signed a minor-league contract with the Tigers on Friday and received an invitation to major-league spring training, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Analysis: The Tigers non-tendered Hanifee earlier in the offseason, but the team will keep him around on a minor-league pact. Hanifee gave up three runs across five innings in three appearances with the Tigers last season, and he logged a 4.38 ERA through 90.1 frames at Triple-A Toledo.
Brenan Hanifee Heads into free agency
Hanifee was non-tendered by Detroit on Friday.
Analysis: Hanifee was designated for assignment by the Tigers earlier this week and is now officially a free agent. The 25-year-old right-hander surrendered three earned runs over his first five major-league innings in 2023 and had a 4.38 ERA in 90.1 innings of work at the Triple-A level.
