Dalton Guthrie Receives MiLB deal from Boston
Guthrie signed a minor-league contract with the Red Sox on Tuesday.
Analysis: Guthrie has slashed .244/.393/.333 over 37 games in limited action with the Phillies during the previous two seasons. The 28-year-old has experience at every position other than first base and catcher, so he'll give the Red Sox some versatile depth.
Dalton Guthrie Remains in organization
Guthrie cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Analysis: Guthrie was designated for assignment by Atlanta on Friday, but he'll remain in the organization after passing through waivers unclaimed. The 27-year-old played in 23 games for the Phillies earlier in the year and had a .167/.286/.208 slash line in 28 plate appearances.
