Joey Wiemer Cracks roster for NL WC Series

Wiemer is part of the Brewers' roster for their NL Wild Card Series matchup against the Diamondbacks.

Analysis: Wiemer finished out the regular season with Triple-A Nashville, but the Brewers have opted to carry seven different outfielders into this best-of-three series versus Arizona. The 24-year-old could serve as a late-inning defensive replacement or maybe even a pinch-hitting option against lefties. He posted an .815 OPS against southpaws this year at the MLB level.

Joey Wiemer Sent back to Triple-A

Wiemer was optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Sunday.

Analysis: Wiemer operated as Milwaukee's primary center fielder earlier this season, but he's worked in a reserve role of late and has a .483 OPS in 61 at-bats since the start of August. Blake Perkins (oblique) was reinstated from the injured list in a corresponding move.
