Seth Martinez Recalled from Sugar Land

Houston recalled Martinez from Triple-A Sugar Land on Friday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Analysis: Martinez will join the Astros' bullpen ahead of Friday's series opener in Arizona as Ryne Stanek goes on paternity leave. Martinez, 29, has posted a 5.23 ERA and 1.49 WHIP through 43 major-league innings this season.

Houston optioned Martinez to Triple-A Sugar Land on Thursday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
