Austin Warren Signing with San Francisco

Warren (elbow) agreed to a one-year contract with the Giants on Wednesday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Analysis: Warren was designated for assignment and subsequently released by the Angels last week, but it didn't take long for him to latch on with a new team. The right-hander missed most of last season after undergoing Tommy John surgery in May, so he's likely to also be sidelined for the first half of 2024.

Austin Warren Released by Angels

Warren (elbow) was released by the Angels on Thursday.

Analysis: Warren was designated for assignment Wednesday and was quickly moved out of the organization altogether. He's recovering from Tommy John surgery but should be back at some point late in the 2024 season. Warren has experienced some success in the majors and should get a chance with a new club when he's healthy.
