Jonathan Ornelas Returns to Triple-A

Ornelas was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock on Monday.

Analysis: Ornelas collected one hit and struck out four times in seven at-bats since being promoted Sept. 9. He was sent down Monday along with Sam Huff to make room for Josh Jung (thumb) and Adolis Garcia (knee), who were both activated from the 10-day injured list.

Jonathan Ornelas Back in big leagues

Ornelas was recalled by the Rangers on Saturday.

Analysis: Ornelas got into two games off the bench for the Rangers in August but did not receive a plate appearance. Given that he owns a modest 83 wRC+ in 108 Triple-A games this season, it's unlikely he's been called up for his bat. J.P. Martinez was optioned in a corresponding move.
