Stuart Fairchild Returns to action

Fairchild entered Tuesday's game in the ninth inning as the left fielder and went 0-for-1 in a 7-0 loss to Minnesota.

Analysis: Fairchild made his first appearance since coming off the COVID-19-related injured list. Given the large deficit, Reds manager David Bell inserted several bench players during the latter innings, one of which was Fairchild who got himself acclimated to game conditions in a low-pressure setting.

Stuart Fairchild Back from COVID-19 IL

Fairchild (illness) was activated from the COVID-19-related injured list Monday.

Analysis: Fairchild was away from the Reds for a little over a week but is ready to roll now following a short rehab assignment. With Hunter Renfroe designated for assignment and Harrison Bader (groin) on the 10-day injured list, Fairchild should see regular playing time versus left-handed pitching down the stretch.
