Saubert re-signed with the Broncos on a one-year deal Wednesday, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
Analysis: Saubert appeared in all 17 games with Denver last season, earning eight catches on 12 targets for 47 yards and a touchdown. He's also been a solid and consistent contributor on special teams for the Broncos. With the departure of Noah Fant to Seattle, but the acquisition of Eric Tomlinson in free agency, and the selection of Greg Dulcich in the third round of the 2022 Draft, Saubert could be fighting for a roster spot in training camp.
Eric Saubert Hits pay dirt in win
Saubert caught his lone target for a one-yard touchdown in Sunday's 28-13 win over the Chargers.
Analysis: Saubert operated as Denver's No. 3 tight end Sunday and was the recipient of Teddy Bridgewater's only passing touchdown of the contest. The touchdown was Saubert's first in 11 contests this season, and since he's averaging just one target per game, he'll likely need to find the end zone most weeks to deliver meaningful fantasy value. Since that can't be relied upon, Saubert should remain far off the fantasy radar.
