Montgomery will be the Rangers' starter for Game 2 of the World Series on Saturday versus Arizona, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.
Analysis: After allowing just two runs over 14 innings across three appearances versus the Astros in the ALCS, Montgomery will officially follow Game 1 starter Nathan Eovaldi in Texas' World Series rotation. Including the postseason, Montgomery has put up a 2.62 ERA and 1.14 WHIP through 92.2 innings since being traded to the Rangers.
Jordan Montgomery Named Game 5 starter
Montgomery will start Game 5 of the ALCS on Friday against Houston, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.
Analysis: Montgomery shut down the Astros in Game 1, throwing 6.1 scoreless innings while striking out six batters and walking one en route to a victory. Aside from a shaky outing against Baltimore in the ALDS, Montgomery has been solid in the postseason with an overall 2.08 ERA through 17.1 frames.
